You know it's a good result when Damo does the scoresheet on the night of the game!  Perhaps he was just keen to do it while it was fresh in his mind as reading Ricky's writing takes a post-grad qualification in runic letters.

The game started with a shuffling of the batting order, moving Greg and Damo up the order.  The benefit of doing this is that it tends to demoralise the opposition when the first pair get a substantial total.  In this case, D+G managed abit more than substantial and took out the honours for highest partnership for all seasons with a wicketless 66.

Relatively speaking, it was all downhill from there - after all, its a pretty hard act to follow.  Gatch and Chan put their heads down after an adventurous and unprofitable start and grafted out a solid 20.  The bowler was gobsmacked when OMG played a shuffling forward defensive which drifted over his head for seven, but I think OMG was more shocked still.  Shot of the match that.

Rob and Si batted sensibly, pushing the ball into the sidenets.  Unfortunately, Rob was his own worst enemy, pushing the ball in such a way that it would end up near one set of stumps.  Unlucky to be run out of a brutal shot for 7 (and a flat six on most outdoor grounds), looked like you were just in from our viewing point.  As Greg put it, "Ricky's guide dog must have got in the way".

Steve and I batted last, and were out caught once each.  No run-outs or close calls - good calling and running.  Rob, if you get flowers and chocolates showing up at your place, they're for your bat, cause I think I've fallen in love.

Batting was the highlight of my game, as my fielding and bowling were shit.  Two dropped chances and a mis-field for a boundry - urk.  Continuing my recent form, I failed to take a wicket - four wickets in the last six games.  My 23 off two overs was the worst I've had this season.

We gave away 28 extras this week, which is less than one an over.  Improving, but we can do better.  They gave us 50 runs in extras, so we gained 22 net runs right there.

New rule: Rob always has to play so he can bring his bat/my precious.
