Well, that was all a bit anti-climactic.

Fantastic season, great results.  Unlike previous seasons, there was only one close game, which we lost to Public Trust.  Everything else was either a big win or a big loss (in terms of total runs).  We took quads from every loss, and paid our subs on time to top the table (even with shonky result-keeping at the centre).

Palliser are a solid side, hard to dismiss for anything under 80.  But they weren't worth 126.  Their batsmen played solid, patient cricket.  They got out only 8 times total.

We got out 19 times, and that was crippling.  Despite us winning the backnet battle 12-6, we lost the wicket war, and that's where games are won and lost.  We also got hammered on the extras count, conceding 40 to their 20.  We've had difficulties controlling the new ball in finals before.

Well played guys, we never gave up and didn't lose our collective rag.  Good sportsmen, scholars and gentlemen all.
