Well chaps, another stunning victory snatched from ok, we blitzed them.

Note to self: if toss won we field first

Their first partnership I believe we did pretty poorly, conceding 35 runs in total. There were plenty of chances (and a good few taken), but lets keep an eye on the ball at all times. If youre at the back (or front for that matter, remember to act like a see-saw (I know its a horrible analogy, but bear with me). Say for example the ball goes to the left corner, the fielder on the right hand side should be pulling back so if the throw comes in, it is backed up. Kind of let ourselves down there but then we did fight back very solidly.

The other three partnerships well that was a lesson on what we can do when we put our minds to it. Admittedly they werent the strongest batsmen weve faced (which means I just lost that excuse for conceding a seven!!!), but we did exceeding well in the field. 4 runs from 3 partnerships really got us back in the hunt nice lockdown on their batting with some excellent fielding guys.

A huge effort from the Injured One (Chan) in the G-Spot (position where Greg normally fields) with some good runouts from bizarre angles and a great catch off Steves over. Simon was the go to guy yet again, taking a nice hat trick with a little help from his friends great stuff and I also spied a very good catch from him.

Callum was strong at the back as per usual (despite the three dropped catches and that one in the chest just wasnt manners at all) taking down some ICBM off Simons over, and a awesome one-handed catch off my last over to complete the hat trick that I got.

Steve had some unlucky chances that just evaded the gloves (one where I was doing my best impersonation of the Statue of David but fully clothed and without a slingshot) but was once more solid with the gloves.

Pete had a strong comeback game with some excellent bowling in the third partnership and some great fielding to boot. A beautiful seven batting with Simon also that partnership really sent us on our way, so thanks very much guys and also managed the MVP for the game also. Well done!

OMG well I cant talk about his bowling effort because he asked me not to, but he did take a good solid catch in my second over to execute wicket 2 of the hat trick. Cheers fella! Batted extremely solidly with Chan to really set a platform from which Damo attempted to launch an assault on the batting statistics. Unsuccessfully may I add
Despite OMGs extra effort, all in all it was a good effort by everyone to keep these to a minimum well done everyone. And everyone got at least one wicket so that was a great as well. Keep up the great work.

On Damos batting for the game he threatened the worst score in a match, but failed by one measly run Had to get the dig in because of the tied MVP deal I demand a recount!!!

On a personal note Im a doubtful starter for a while, depending on what the doctor says. My shoulder is in a pretty sorry state but will find out the details once its X-Rayed and all. Thank god for ACC and medical insurance is all I have to say!

I'll like to clarify Maverick's statement about me being only 1 run off the worst score.  That is the worst score this season - not overall.  I think Chan proudly holds both of those records (-14 this season and -18 overall).

Well - I think I dodged that one nicely.

I figured there was no way we could loose so what the hell - I'll have a bit of a bash and see if I can't lift my average a bit - unfortunately after going out almost immediately I then had to continue hitting big - I just had no choice! ;-)

Good win though and sets us up well for the Finals which must be coming soon.

Bart: If you think that's where the G-spot is, well, lets just say we pity Rach.  Particularly if your comparisons with the Statue of David are to be believed.

Otherwise, some good comments there - particularly regarding overthrows.  Don't throw it full strength when the batsmen are clearly going to make it.

I thought holding that last partnership to so few was particularly well done, as the guy with the goatee could find the backnet (last time we played MetroGlass, he hit me for three backnets off the three balls he faced - I went for 22 off the over).

Catching that rocket felt abit like Neo stopping bullets in the Matrix.  I've still got bruising in the chest from that one I dropped and that nearly dropped me.

That ball seemed particularly good - hard, fast and bouncy.  I was bowling with more pace than usual, and had -4 off my first over which turned to pus with an second over of 16.

That was one of our best weeks for extras, with only OMG and I over the acceptable level.  I bowled two, the first of which was a horrible call from the umpire that I followed up with a genuinely wide ball to show him what a real wide delivery looked like.  That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Thanks for the essay(s) guys.

I was going to say "good game lads" but it seems a bit redundant now.

Still, if I was going to watch any game from the sideline, that would have to be one of the more entertaining ones  :  )
