Chaps,

Up against some young bucks by the name of the Mad Men well, as they say, dont send boys to do a mans job, so I think a name change on their behalf maybe an option

The warm up spelt doom for at least one of their players hitting me in the arm (the captain, who can choose when he bowls ;) ) was probably a) not diplomatic, and b) not wise.

They elected to send us into bat, and the game started with a hiss and a roar. Their first partnership netting not too much and more importantly the return of Steve to lead off the bowling. Welcome back Steve I think everyone would agree a complete game from yourself at keep, bowling and batting which would explain the second in the MVP stats.

Chans fielding I dont believe I have ever seen you field like that a great catch, a couple of run outs excellent.

Damos fielding well, those poor suckers would have been in negatives if some of those shies at the stumps had hit just not your day in that regard but some excellent stops. And the bowling well 20 the target, 19 the result. Just dont leave it to the last two balls again please, not good for my old ticker!

Rob bowling wise, started off slow with the old line, but then the rhythm kicked in and a well deserved clean bowl of some poor little school boy. Batting was exceptionally solid; I would give credence to your batting partner but he sucked and NO outs!

OMG that first over was a ripper everyone will agree to that one. Double hat trick I believe. Brilliant stuff.

Callum solid as always on the back net, no runs conceded in your overs and some good solid runs. And NO outs!

Gregor how the heck can you run TWO people out by walking to the stumps still baffles me, but hey. Thats not hard Good solid amount of runs with the bat as well. Must be relishing not being captain me thinks ;)

And then the Maverick well its hard to actually keep your head in the game when you really only want to hurt some little punk in a singlet.. and then for him to bowl to me had to laugh.

So guys regardless of the fact that they were fresh out of nappies (I think one actually was considering how fresh he smelt Damo and Steve might be able to clarify with their parenthood!), these games are good in getting yourselves into rhythm, me trying different things with field placings, and getting people moved around in the batting and generally trying new things. A great performance and more pleasing that we all kept the foot on the throat when asked. Excellent dont relax, just keep up the great work

Guys, well done on the result last night. As we know it was a resounding victory. In fact their ears are probaly still ringing after a drubbing like that. Ahhh ain't it good to be back.

Still, no resting on the laurels - that game was very likely not representative of the opposition we'll face for the rest of the season. However I think it was great that we maintained the intensity despite the result being almost certain, both in the field and with the bat. Good to see.
