Fuckity-fuck-fuckarino-fuckface-fuckflatulance.  'Ware the Ides of July.

Well, first I guess I have to give credit to the opposition, who did bowl and field very well.  Credit must also go to everyone on our team for that abyssmal batting performance.  The week off certainly didn't help.  After the first two partnerships had crumbled, the last two were batting out of character, trying shots they wouldn't normally try (even so, nothing seemed to go right).

They bowled straight, with a good mixture of length.  We found it quite hard to find the sidenets and were scoring mostly singles.  On top of that, losing 23 wickets is a recipe for a low score.  (Using Chan-maths (tm), we can see that we actually scored 130 runs)

There was some fired up bowling from us, and good vigour in the field.  I'm proud of that much - that we didn't just roll over and concede 130 through pissing about in the field.  My admonishment about dropping catches seemed to work as they were sticking last night (Next time I'll threaten anyone scoring under 10 with the bat!).  The runouts could have been alot better, though we picked up a fair few of those as well.

To have put the squeeze on them for 12 overs wiped their smiles off.  Interesting that both sides got out 23 times.  It was their last partnership who showed everyone on both sides how easy batting can be.

Anyway, glad I wasn't there.  Tracey and I spent the night at her place watching videos.  I've got my alibi sorted - where were you on the night of the 15th?

Man talk about four seasons in one night...
Personally, my worst batting all season :(
My best bowling all season!

Kudos to everyone who played - shame about the batting (a lack of Moros as Steve would say) but absolutely stoked about the overall fielding effort.

Thanks to G for great hands taking a couple of catches for me, the Chan and Damo combo for one of the more freakier run outs (of Chan's foot, into Damo's hand for the run out), and the faith from Callum that bowling around the wickets might work - for the record, Callum said that bowling around the wicket is not a wicket taking option for me - but a catch from G and the one that went straight through for the bowled... nice to prove you wrong Callum ;)

That was one of the more impressive fielding displays we have put on, and we should be proud and happy about that. Disappointing to lose, yes, but good to see we showed at least a bit of fight.

Good effort guys - on to next season!

PS Sorry I was late and only showed up to field...
