We won the toss and elected to field - because Damo said we always did that.

A shout out to Philus and Pete for filling in so well and grabbing the 2nd and 3rd MVP slots.

Their first partnership did well with 29 - Simon had an unusual first over being more expensive than I have seen in a while - a great effort to come back in the second over and snare 3 wickets.

Our fielding wasn't the flashest at times - I put this mainly on the ball being so damn hard - and we weren't the only ones suffering it by the way they fielded.

In the bowling the captain led from the front - I was a little more fired up than usual and knew about it the next couple of days.

All in all, I was most pleased with the two final partnerships of their batting - we really locked them down nicely.

On the batting front, the captain again led from the front narrowly squeaking by Pete for 16 (to his 15). Again, a good effort from everyone (Damo will disagree but he did good when it counted) - we did give away a couple too many wickets (Greg trying harder than everyone to give them an extra one!!!) but the result was all that mattered in the end.

The game all in all was a bit like doing the dirty with a blow up doll - not convincing, a bit awkward, sort of uncomfortable but in the end everyone was happy and relieved even if you are the only human in the room!!!

BTW - this is what I have heard on the grapevine and is not based on experience.

Did anyone else notice the page two headline in the Dom Post this morning?

"Public Trust shake-up costs $3m"

Well done guys, you made page two!
