And then, this guy on a White Horse walked up carrying a bow (the first Horseman of the Apocalypse).

OK chaps this was the first of three wins we need to get ourselves into real contention for the finals. Public Trust prior to this game were ranked at 3 on the table (behind Eagles and Raiders) and we were languishing at 8th.

Remaining games are against Douglas Hampton Memorial Tour (to whom we lost by 1 measly run last time snatching defeat from the jaws of victory! - http://cricket.coursey.co.nz/games.asp?gameId=129) and against the Eagles (who we lost to by 4 - http://cricket.coursey.co.nz/games.asp?gameId=125).

But enough dwelling on the past! That was an excellent all round effort last night. My Personal low lights the two backnets we conceded were against OMG and Callum and I was unfortunate enough to be in the way of them OMGs one snaring my left hand little finger and Callums just above me and out of reach (times like this I wish I was as tall as Callum!). But 2 backnets means that OMG and Callum did their jobs well (I would say I did too, but I was only back there for 4 overs!).

Highlights:

- OMGs mighty 7 when his and Chans partnership looked like not securing the quad.
- Damo and Gs partnership only 1 out.
- Si and my ugly as partnership but we got our overall season average back over 30 (hooray!) from 8 games.
- Having Steve back keeping although he nearly took me out when I tried to leap gallantly over him (ok me leaping is a stretch, me leaping gallantly is, well, like someone jumping over the Grand Canyon!) that was too funny! Funnier still was the runout on Gs bowling with Steves deft little flick up into my hands for the runout
- Callums hat trick.
- Chans and Sis bowling.
- The fielding all round 9 run outs and 5 catches.

However, we did let them off with far too many extras (Steve was the only one not to concede an extra) 32 in total which is half their abysmal score.

Next week we are on to DHMT and hopefully a visit from someone on a Flaming Red horse carrying a sword (second horseman).

Yes, welcome back!

It will be interesting to see our standings after this win.  Thrilled to take out an 8-0 win.  The ability to know what each quad is aiming for is why I choose to bat second if I win the toss.

Nicely rounded win, with nothing that sticks out as concerning.  Good intensity throughout the game.  Let's keep bringing in the wins, and see where we're placed.

Personally, not the greatest show on earth.  Batting was not too memorable - I don't think I've ever wobbled so many shots off the side face of the bat, really was not middleing many shots.  Probably deserved what I got scorewise.

Great first over, and was quite tempted to bowl a second over at them.  However, the batsmen tend to recognise a bowler has been brought back because of prior success and really put their mind on the job.  Instead, my second over went for 14 (including that 7 off the last ball, which was a bit too full to Victor).
