Not that I want to detract from Callums performance...but it was also a team effort - this is the magic 6 from 6 sequence...in fact I'll take you through the whole over (for the benefit of barty).

Ball 1 - Big fella on strike - has a big swing and connects nicely..ball goes flying to the back of the court for a 4.  These guys are off to a great start in their partnership and considering the last partnership had just scored 33 and the team was on 71 at the half way stage I am sure they were quite confident that they would carry it on!

Ball 2 - Run Out
Ball 3 - Stumped
Ball 4 - Caught
Ball 5 - Caught again *doh*
Ball 6 - Run Out
Ball 7 - Run Out (lots of pressure on me to get that one!)

And of course a catch in Callums first over to bring the tally to 7!  Outstanding bowling and team effort :)

The end scoreline was definitely flattering to them, as Steve and I attempted a extra run on the final delivery in the hope the fielder would put in a wild throw.  It would have been 75-73 if we hadn't.

As I said to Rob afterwards, it was one of those games that make you realise why you play sport.  We were stuck saying 'What if?', and no doubt they would have been over the moon with defending 75.  There's not a single player who can't say 'What if I had have done this? Not done this?  We would have won'.

There's no sense in dwelling on such 'What ifs', but use that frustration to harden your determination to keep intensity at all times.  Not bowling extras, keeping the ball off the sidenets, holding those chances, knowing when to throw and when to not.  In future it could be all the difference once again.

Well, as said in a few emails going about today - rather an exceptional over with six consecutive wickets.  What is that, a quadruple hatrick?  I would have much rather had the win, as the result took the edge off the record.

As pointed out, and I wish to reiterate - it was a team effort.  I can take some credit on the two caught behind, but Steve still had to glove them.  The rest of them I probably have to give credit to the batsmen for creating the chances, and the rest of the team for capitalising on them.

It was very nice to get some wickets after the last six games yielded only four wickets.  I'm going to try putting more deliveries outside off-stump as so many of the batsmen we play against don't really have shots, but they can hit it when its right on the stumps.

'How Gatch got his groove back'
Perhaps the best news to come out of the game is that OMG is bowling well again.  Seems he was too focussed on placement, and now he's sped up to a more natural speed and went for 10 runs off his two overs.  Awesome news.

We gave away a mere 12 runs in extras, which I'm sure would have to be the lowest this season, and would have to be in the running for all seasons.  Five bowlers put down extra-less overs.

The other highlight would be Damo's 22 off 15 balls.  How he gets that while still getting out twice is beyond me.  Can't argue with results though.

Statistically, its an incredible compliment to Steve's consistency that I should have a positive 34 MVP contribution, but that it only raises my average to be equal with his.
