Well that was a good solid effort from everyone.

Not happy with the mondo bruise on my leg though from Philus branding me...

And I still think that runout should go against Simon as he was facing ;-)

Good effort guys, let's keep it up. Surprisingly with the batting I felt really good - aside from that first mishap - not sure if I was running harder or softer than normal but actually came off not puffing, wheezing and generally feeling like death warmed through.

A good win against an arch nemesis and points on the board which is even better...

Yes, definitely good to get such a comprehensive win against long-time rivals.

They got off to a good start with a partnership of 28 in which Prefect (the big dude) was involved.  They really didn't hit it enough to give us chances, and we let them off the hook with some erratic bowling.

However, we fielded well and started taking our chances (or giving them to Paul, as the case may be).  In particular, nice bowling from Greg - who didn't let rip with his trademark 'Umpire-Hunter' delivery.

Good night for Paul on the backnet as well, taking quite a few catches.

Batting was solid.  No-one got out more than once, and we weren't playing dumb shots.  Shoutout to Bart and Si's partnership which topscored with a not flashy 34.  There was plenty of strike rotating, with only four dot balls in the innings.

A 7-1 win over one of the most consistent sides in our grade.  They've never been big scoring side - just miserly in the field.

Well done guys.

In defence of my -1 batting performance, I executed a couple of outstanding 'leaves' on marginally wide deliveries.  And Damo was at the other end so I knew we'd set some sort of total for the first pair....anyway shame about the bonus point.

I also managed to ride my luck no end, with their fielders having a case of the dropsies on at least one occasion, and the umpire's guide dog must have got his way at least once with a clear runout that wasn't given.  But hey, you take those when they happen 'cause there's plenty that go the other way.

Damn good game all round though. great to see we performed in the field for the entire innings, and four solid partnerships really stuck it to them.  You could see their spirit sapped as we approached then passed the target with a number of overs to spare.

Well done lads.  Keep an eye on the points table. We may be creeping to the top......

Umpire-Hunter?  OMG will be suing for trademark infringement ....  : )

Can I just say, from a wicket keeping point of view but does affect you all as bowlers...

Coming around the wicket to Prefect or bowling leg side is really hard work... you can't see squat.
